Charles Lugar, farmer, 88, center; B.A. Fitzgerald, 81, retired N&W section foreman and Mrs. Estelle Lugar, right, ignore No. 2 as it slows down for the Lithia station, 28 miles out of Roanoke. Lugar has 10 kids and was married for the second time when he was 70. Lugar doesn't do much any more! Mrs. Lugar would not give her age.
Shenandoah Division Time Table No. 10 called for this train to be in Lithia at 7:11 p.m. so the sky is still light but the scene was illuminated as though it were dark and this was the only exposure we made of this rural everyday event.
